Thanks for the Ellis thread link. Most amusing...... Having done something similar myself at Tallarook. Most bogged, both cars. Didn't break anything but the Warn, and bent the steering on the D1.
Of course, I've had other "moments".

This photo is of the concrete being mixed, for the placement of the new marker at Cameron's Corner in 1969. The Queensland contingent had a Government Surveyor, Doug Barsby, whom I worked with in the '70s. Doug was a very good photographer and I often wonder what happened to his photo collection, after his death.
