Had my insurance cancelled recently because of a bushfire overlay that to my knowledge has been in place for 26 years. Bloody apps.I reckon Suncorp shared with RACQ, if in fact they are not one and the same.

You reckon that's bad! We've got a 'Koala Corridor' through part of our place!

You want to watch that. I hear the koalas are forming a collective with the drop bears. Lobby groups are circling.

Our neighbour wanted to clear an area in the 100 acre paddock that adjoins us. I told him I'd give him a hand. He then discovered that said 'Corridor' ran across the area for clearing. Council flatly refused his request.

Now, the trees we were going to clear? Black Wattle! I can't recall ever seeing a koala in a Black Wattle tree, or any type of Wattle, now I think about it.

Even the birds seem to avoid those. And they are not even of much use as firewood. Well, at least down here where fires are for warmth and not just decoration.
But the council folks no doubt have some letters after their names

Perhaps the folks' parents should have used certain 'Letters', before the need to be named?.

It's great that a lot of people think that. It can melt a wood heater if used by itself.

I don't think it, I have lots of experience with it. Yes it will, but not for long. It burns too quickly to be used in a combustion stove. And it'll take the edge off a chainsaw fast. You need to set the teeth especially for it. But it does get the temp up quickly.

If you want real heat, get some mallee roots. Except you aren't allowed to in Vic. You can in SA.

My usual fuel is seasoned ironbark - I have several hundred acres that was pulled forty years ago but not cleaned up.
