Me too time wise or thereabout and I still have the owners manual for my 1974 HQ Belmont Holden.

Then there are a heap of XJ Cherokee parts......I've had two of them ....including 5 rims with tyres. All rims and caps are new as is one tyre.

Top of my list for oddness though are the 1986 model Lada Niva spare parts including a new front bumper.

Talk about Manuals, even have one from my BSA Bantam days back when I was a kid, plus other bikes and vehicles that have crossed my path. Then out in the shed there are tractor manuals, even have one for dad's old McCormack Deering W Model.

Grumbles, funny you mention the Lada Niva, first time I set eyes on one was at Alice Springs in the mid eighties. There were three very large people of African descent, mum, dad, and a teenage lad, who had travelled to Alice via the Gunbarrel Highway. They were all twenty stone plus and managed to shoehorn themselves, with all their camping gear, into, and onto the roof rack, of this poor little car. I have never felt so sorry for a vehicle in all my life.

    Cheers, Mick.

I knew it would happen , went to scrap man Monday & there was somebody on here yesterday looking for an alternator bracket , it would have been one of the few L/R parts I scraped & probely the last part I put in the back of the ute:mad I kept walking the bracket wondering if I should dump it or not , in the end I made the wrong decision: It is just like when you cant find some thing , it is only lost untill you cant finb something else then it wil turn up.

I bought an 1800 Mk l for the front seats, they were a tight squeeze in an HR Holden.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

I found this book the other day when I was going through some of my dad old bits & pieces. IHe was given it by the dealer when he bought his 4 door Range Rover, He bought one of the first that came to Qld. I dont know what is going on lately , every time I post a photo it turns it, usually on its side but this one is up side down.

The OP question was. "How long do you hang on to parts"

Simple answer. If they are LR parts and you have room, the answer is until you die. (and hopefully your son will inherit them)
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
