    Coin collectors.

Do we have any coin collectors on here?

The attached picture is a complete set of the 12 Parishes of Jersey ?1 coins. I'd like to get it valued with the intention of selling but to ensure I get an accurate valuation I'd like to do some research first. Where do I start?

Couldn't find anything a mint set is worth about ?8,500 apparently. An incomplete set of individual coins is listed for about ?450.

These were all straight from the mint and sent to me as my grandparents lived in Jersey.

Start at $15M and work your way down.
Or speak to an appraiser and work up from their face value.

Yes, I collect(ed) coins, but they are all junk and live in a cookie tin- you know, the type of tin grandma always had which never ever seemed to hold cookies...

The highlight of my collection is a round 50c piece, and a somali note that a solider sent me during the early 90's peacekeeping mission there (we wrote to soldiers in operation Solace back when I was in year 1. I was foolish enough to tell him that I collected coins, and now have the 0.0001AUD to prove it).

I used to have a much smaller tin than that with junk old coins in it too. The oldest was an 1897 Dutch coin that was nearly smooth on the faces.

One of the kids ended up with them I think.
