Spotted on the other week heading north out of Brisbane.....well I caught in my side vision and wondered if it was a speed camera.
About one month ago Queensland introduced Speed Camera Trailers. No doubt in due time they will make their way into the other states. Cheers, Mick.

They have been used in Tasmania for several years I believe that Tassie. one will take your photo if any one tries to inter fear with them.
Automated revenue raising. If there was any connection with safety the operator has a duty of care to immediately stop the dangerous activity. Imagine the response from the lawmakers if BHP failed to 'STOP THE JOB', but sent a photo and fine, days or weeks later, for a safety breach.

Any thing at all to try and stop the carnage on our roads is worthwhile , unfortunately the operators ( the driver ) in this situation do not display any duty of care !! , if you speed and get booked tough luck !! , argument about revenue raising is a mute point . IMHO.
I am starting to think that all vehicles should be fitted with mobile phone blockers and vehicle speed auto governed to not exceed a certain speed , any thing to combat stupid . This might give the responsible drivers on our roads some protection against the people who seem to think that the road rules is an infringement on their civil rites........... .
I see it is set up on a really dangerous section of divided road freeway. What a joke. They are just raising revenue. If they were fair dinkum they would identify the black spots and run patrols with real people in real cars to police them.
I am all for road safety but this is just an abrogation of police and government responsibility aimed at cost cutting. It is cheaper to put a dumb trailer on a freeway than train and equip a copper to do the real road safety work.
If they just want to raise money, put poker machines in service stations to get driver's coin

I fail to see how littering the roadside with speed cameras, fining competent drivers for straying 3% over a conservative limit, contributes to safety or the lowering of the road toll. All it actually does is distract attention from the road to the dash.
Speed cameras are a revenue source, not a safety tool.
How many drug or alcohol impaired drivers sail undetected through these cash generating devices?
