    Bad Back meds relief.

Ive suffered from a stuffed back for many years, well over 15.
Anyhow, whilst camping over Xmas,my good mate Aaron(Aaron40) had his mrs along for the trip. She suffered back injuries from a car accident. Her daughter is studying to be a Doc and suggested Moxicam for relief,Nina swears by it.They are suited for arthritis and gout.I went and saw my Doc and got a script.Must say I'm impressed, been on them for a couple of weeks now,Im getting great pain relief.
In the last 4 months all my pain meds stopped working due to using them too much,so no pain relief from Panadol Osteo,Neurofin plus,Tramadol 200mg,Tegratol or Panediene Forte.
Must say I'm a HAPPY CHAPPY.
Whilst on medical, got my results back from the "Now you are 50 send us some poo" mob today. No bowel cancer

Thanks for that info. My wife has had back problems for years and she is on the same medication as you were. There is little relief. I'll see if she can get her doc to give her a script for Moxicam.

I have been on Mobic every day for two years....has same active ingredient (Meloxicam) as Moxicam. My script probably says Moxicam.

How many grams of of Meloxicam is yours, my script is 15mg

The amount of money DVA has spent sending me here there everywhere with no relief my local back pain doctor was all over it, the specialist still disagree. Oh well it's saving DVA some coin. Went from two Physio appointments each week, Pilates, injections, acupuncture all at zero cost to now subsidized pills, I reckon I should have the tables for free given all the other treatment I no longer need.

Yes, a common side effect - or ulcers...

Need to monitor and make sure you don't need to take a tablet to counter it...

Glad to hear that Andy..... now you can get on and do some work for a change!
I too have suffered sometimes quite debilitating back pain, both upper and lower. Upper used to be so bad if I bent over whilst weeding (for example) it was very hard straighten up again and painful.
Then I went to tai chi classes every week and it disappeared. Might have been coincidence but whatever I'm glad.
The lower back has 2 segments eroded and the cushion between is stuffed. It was so bad at one time I could barely step off a kerb without feeling a painful jolt even right down my left leg.
Looking on the net a couple of years ago there were some stretching exercises like sitting in a chair and with legs apart pushing your body down between the legs and holding it for a few seconds. That and a couple of other position exercises seem to have helped tremendously.
Now all I need is a silver bullet to fix one or two other things and I'll be off to chase young girls in foreign climes..... can't run fast enough to catch them at the mo!

Thanks for the tip Andy, my step sons partner suffers severe backpain from a car accident a few years ago. She is only 40 years of age and walks with the aid of a walking stick. Wiil pass the name of the drug onto her and see what eventuates.

    No,not what I'm told.
First up,Ive been tested for gout 3 times, always negative.
Ive seen a specialist, they cant do anything until it happens an I get blood tested whilst its active, they say inflammatory arthritis, which is similar to gout but wont show up on the gout test.
The specialist pointed out that pork is by far worse than seafood and tomatoes for gout.
With my back,it was a workplace injury, something I have to live with.
