I left school at 16 and did an apprenticeship as a shipwright, there was no money in it so started another apprenticeship as a fitter and turner boilermaker.I did that for a few years then went onto mobile fitting on light and heavy vehicles of all types. After two decades I got sick of where trades are going as well as where the mining industry is going, downhill big time,it's run by dead****s who think flick and tick take 5 cards and covering everything in reflective tape constitutes safe procedure so drove road trucks part time for 2 years while working as an Ambo in the Pilbara. We moved to Perth and for the last 18 months I've been doing an RN degree and the plan is to move back to the Pilbara when I've completed that to work in Indigenous health. Did this a couple of years ago at Ensham Mine near Blackwater. Got frowned on officially but the shift supervisor thought it was funny.

Well my career has been pretty boring compared to many....

Started refrig and AC apprenticeship with the govt in 1978.

Then moved to the biggest AC installation company in the country, did service for 5 yrs, then did commissioning of some massive projects.

In '91 started my own business and still going. These days we only do commercial refrigeration and commercial AC.Been lots of changes over the years.
Have had many customers for over 20yrs.Also still hold some large Govt. contracts that we have had for over 25yrs.

Actually it is almost time for me to give it away

Over the last few yrs, reduced the size of the company and it is basically a family business now.A lot less headaches, and way better margins

Vehicles,i was a Holden man through and through, thats all we had until '99 when we bought one of the first D2s.

Since '91 i have always had a fleet of Jap vans.

Where did this LR stuff start?

One of my brothers is an LR tragic,so i suppose that helps. His second car he ever bought was an LR,and he still has a few now.

There is a pic of me in some sort of cradle thing in the front seat of the S1, that is in my sig,so i suppose thats where it all actually started........
