For anyone that may be interested, I got a reply to an email I sent Ron yesterday...

He said I could share it on the forum, so hopefully this will fill in some gaps for a few wondering where he is.

    -------------------------------------------

    Hi Mark,

    Yes, I turned 69 today.

I haven't been on the forum for quite some time. I'm not sure how long, probably 6 months. I needed a break. Maybe I'll return this year. Maybe not.

Elisabeth is improving. She was on hospital for quite some time back in October-November - had an emergency abdominal operation that turned out to be unnecessary. That was followed by 2 heart attacks whilst in hospital, probably caused by the stress of being in there, and ended up with a leaking heart valve which wasn't apparent before hospitalisation. That may need open heart surgery. Time for a trade-in.

    Me? I'm well.

I hope you and yours are similarly well.

The L322 is going well. I've had to replace both front struts and radiator. You'll be pleased to know that my purchasing of faulty goods is still going strong. I had the front right suspension airbag start to leak (it was the original strut). We replaced it and the next day (Christmas Eve) the LHS strut failed) airbag OK, failed seals. I think Harlie made a thread about this in the L322 section).

    Great!

Went and collected a new strut. Came back and whilst the L322 was on the hoist, it was noticed that the RHS strut replaced the previous day was losing air. I had to rush back to the supplier after they'd closed for Xmas to get a replacement.

I'm currently (no pun intended) setting the L322 up for dual batteries. I've found I can get two 12v 45Ah deep cycle batteries in the well below the rear fuse panel (RHS). I'll probably get one of Drivesafe's dual battery controllers. I was hoping to buy Gav's but the mongrel fitted it to his work H*L**!

BTW, I did hear about Bushie and contacted his sister, Pat (Vixen formerly Numpty's Missus) afterward. I'm on a motorcycle forum with Pat and Coops.

Oh, you can share this with the forum if you like.

    Cheers

    Ron

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

I wonder if I can ping him for "avoiding the swear filter" , when discussing Gav's work ute.
