    Linear meters thicky attack

    I'm not getting it.
I have a room 7mx5m that i want to cover with floating floorboards. Each board is 8.5cm wide. So i get it that its 35m square - but looking at the specs , its $3 per linear metre. How do I calculate linear metres ? Is it that i divide the width of the room by the width of the board and then x the result by the length of the room? Or am i barking.
I need a cup of tea.
    Cheers,
    D

Divide your room width by your board width. This will tell you how many boards you need to cross your room. Multiply the result by the length of you room and this should give you LM.
Add a bit for wastage and offcuts

First find out what lengths the boards are delivered in. Possibly 3.6m, 4.8m and 6.0m. Work out where you want joins appearing, then calculate exactly how many boards of a given length you need to do the job with the least wastage. Work out which way you want the boards to run. Multiply the number of boards ordered by their lengths by $3 and hand over your hard earned.
