No sooner do you get yourself and/or your workforce compliant with the current training standards, some arsehole decides to change the standards so that you have to go through it all again. I've lost count of the number of days I've wasted sitting through training courses and "inductions" which all "taught" me exactly the same thing. Many of the people running / presenting these courses did not have a clue about the content of the course they were presenting ................. had never worked in the industry themselves and their "knowledge" was derived purely from the course documents and pictures.
I'm actually a qualified workplace trainer & assessor myself, and hold nationally accredited tickets in that plus operation of a range of mobile plant. I've often though that I should have gone into the training industry. Set myself up as an RTO and rip off mining companies and others by telling them that their employees simply could not survive without the training that I could offer them .................... but I've got a conscience. :p
