Unbelievable that it took a Land Rover Forum that's not part of the organising committee to point this out but at least the Cooma Visitor Centre is on the ball and have corrected it without delay.
Well I suppose that it is a bit difficult to tell what it is from the badge

Every time I go to the site there is something different about it.

I imagine the visitor centre probably knocked it up quickly by filling in a standardized template designed for promoting local events with text and pictures and then is refining it as responses come in. It looks fine to me, but the details may need some work.

Details definitely need work - there's very little there last time I looked (this morning). Those like me that haven't been before are a little bewildered by the lack of detail. I'm not the only one either. I would have thought with all these big clubs organising this, that someone may know how to actually let the great unwashed know what to expect.

    What info you looking for......

    Dates have been set
    Outline of events is up

That's all I needed to start planning, book accommodation and build a trip around the weekend.

Keep in mind it's run by volunteers

    Land Rover 70th

All these type of events are run by volunteers but some better than others. As I said, for those like me that haven't been before some info other than 'the Showgrounds or wherever' for us campers and a bit more detail about what actually goes on - an outline of the proceedings doesn't give much hint as to what actually happens, where it happens, times, expectations of participants, etc.

While I'm sure they'll fill in the gaps at some stage, it seems to me a free for all - Rock up with your Land Rover and do whatever - you know, you've been before.... but I haven't...

Other large events involving lots of vehicles usually have heaps more detail to let newcomers know how things work and the lie of the land - all this seems lacking here.

While I'm sure I'll find somewhere suitable to put the van for a few nights and head out and explore what's to do, get involved and have a blast it just comes across as a bit half arsed from where I sit, and while I'm sure that's not the case and the organisers are working hard, they need to be aware not all of us are in their Clubs, or have been there before and have the knowledge and experience they have - communication is the key to any successful venture and I feel it is lacking here is all.

As this is the Countries largest Land Rover forum I also thought the organisers may be spruking it a bit here but the website link had to be posted by a member that came across it who has also never attended.

If you want to pass this constructive criticism onto someone in the know maybe it could help them better understand the needs of those who haven't attended before instead of thinking everyone knows what the go is.

And maybe people are thinking I'm just having a whinge - well maybe I am, but it's just how I feel is all. I'm still really looking forward to it and I'll have a great time, it's just figuring it out seems to be a bit painful to me is all.

    I'm finding it frustrating too.
We would prefer to camp where the main event will be held( as done at the Sydney Expo and Melrose).
This allows us the ability to a have social drink or two with other people which can only add to the event atmosphere.
With lots of people staying in motels etc. parking around the show grounds is another concern.

Does anyone know what the onsite camp fees are(and how to book)?
Whats the entry cost for the event?
Is there an extra charge for each Land Rover for those who take more than one?
Hard to budget when there is no information.

As mentioned we are not members of any of the organising clubs so relying on what is posted here or the event web site.
To be honest it's starting to feel like non club members are not invited.
    Cheers, Kyle

I found the best way to understand events is to go to previous ones of the same event. ie the 60th. agreed on info though

I find that quite often with events. Its hard when you live away from where clubs are based
