I'm not surprised at the PM box getting used.
I expressed my bad experiance at an event and promptly got a PM.
No apology however, only a justification as to why.
Understandably people can't express thier bad experiences but unfortunately the good buisnesses get tarnished also as hints are given.
Its not a good a buisness if more than one person has had bad dealings so they deserve to be tarnished to protect other consumers.
If a individual has a single complaint for reasons unknown and the majority dont that becomes awkward and should not be worthy of spreading bad reports or tarnishing untill proven as it could be just a one off as we all have bad days;)
Good buisness`s get good comms :D
Yes.. This Repairer Seems to be sliding backwards in reputation in the last 3-5 years.
I've named and shamed a van retailer and it's manufacturer here before and on another forum but also said that I'd taken them to Consumer Affairs WA and also the small claims court and got what we wanted.
No way could the pair of them deny we had an open and shut case against them. :p
Retailer did ring me and threaten action as someone sent them a pic of their wheel cover on the back of the Deafener, suitably altered to express our feelings....and their solicitors added a letter threat as well.
They seem to have forgotten you can't stop someone telling the truth which is different from insinuating stuff about someone.
We didn't stop displaying the cover except to move it from the vehicle to the van when towing, so it was always on view. :D
Many vanners chatted about their own experiences with these people and they were much the same as ours.
And never heard another thing from them or their solicitors.
Make sure you've got a good case even before you tell people via a PM as you never know who may decide to dob you in. :o
AlanH.
Yeah, I recommend you prove your case through Consumer Affairs and the courts before you say anything publicly, and then still be very careful to only make factual statements without opinions.
Remember that truth is not an absolute defence if it can be proven that you displayed malice. You can still be sued.
Australian defamation laws provide relatively weak protection by international standards. This is not the USA.
