Holden started selling their adventura commodore 4wd for some rediculous sum. All was good until ford released the Territory for 10k less. Holden responded by dropping the price by several thousand on the new ones, and sending those that had bought one at the original price a cheque for the difference. Maybe LR should do this. I was reading the specs on the V6 petrol DIII.
It looks like if you are happy with your TD5 DII you would be happier with the Petrol DIII. Similar power and economy without all the expense and noise of the diesel, and all wrapped up in a lovely modern body.
If only I had a spare $49000.
?? Isn't the D3 v6 petrol about 160kw vs a TD5 100kw and the V6 petrol gets about the same as a old V8 Disco on the road - say 16-18l/100km and the TD5 about 10-12l/100km.Quote:

Hi duff, only had the V6 D3 for a few days and only filled it once. The fuel consumption seem to be much higher than my Disco II diesel was but as the D3 is way heavier, the fuel consumption is to be expected.
With only 850kms on the clock so far, I have yet to put the foot down but it still definitely has much more power.
All other comparisons aside, the three most noticeable differences are the handling ( only on-road use so far ), incredible comfort of ride and the increase in interior room, both for the front and back seats. Haven’t used the two rear seats yet but the wife reckons there is heaps more rear luggage space ( and she would know after her and the daughter’s two days of shopping for after Christmas Specials ).
If you get the chance, take a D3 for a test drive. When we did a few months ago, we drove the diesel and we were pretty impressed with that but the V6 is noticeably more powerful.

We bought out Disco ex-demo with 7k on the clock, they were offering that at 59 990, but a New Disco S was 56 000 i think. The dealer threw in a few extra's for us.
