One of the reviews said freight to WA was nearly $200. So for $500 you should be able to get a much better quality mower locally.
Those self-propelled lawnmowers on evilBay, 19" and 20/21" - Anyone bought one of them, or know someone who's taken the plunge ?
- Good, Bad, or Indifferent? Price is Very Tempting, when you look at the asking for a good second-hand one...

I'm wondering if the Freight to Perth WA is going to make it a 'non-bargain'. - Most are sourced from NSW.
Thanks !

Ouch... and since posting I've been finding reviews which aren't exactly glowing....Darn it ! these come up regularly as an evilBay 'special deal' and often (?) with FREE postage.
I've got an unreasonable expectation about 'Reliability', and the only way around that is :- Victa 16" Razor Cut Mower | Bunnings Warehouse
Co$t will be amortized over 2 to 3 months.... by letting gym membership lapse...
On the other hand, I suppose SWMBO would prefer repairing the 'Terraforma' (Very Heavy Kawasaki slasher) - the throttle cable can't be THAT expensive.![]()
Aldi were selling 19 inch cut for similar money.
My missus purchased one.
Similar specs.........Four way etc.
Worked OK for the money.
Now after 18 months drive to one wheel plays up, easy fix , but reoccurs.
No parts back up.
Gone back to the Honda I have had for 15 years which has given no trouble and still has a local dealer and parts back up..............The Honda cost me 1200 dollars but was worth every cent.
The Honda starts first pull every time, while the cheaper cusin may take Three goes to start.
You cant beet Honda.I have a 19" Honda push mower, excellent.Deb has a Honda 4 stroke whipper snipper, the big one with handlebars.Hadnt been use for over 3 years,I dug it out the other weekend, put some fuel in and it went first pull. Also got a 2EUI generator, that also goes first pull.

Has anyone purchased one of those tow behind atv mowers with their own motor, I have a ride on for lawns, wanted something to tidy up small paddocks ?
Cheers
The best push mower I've ever found .... is a Victa super 600... Mine will never be sold. You simply can't kill it!
Victa Super 600 | eBay
It will cut ANYTHING. If you can't push the mower onto whatever is to be cut (because it is to long), lift the nose and drop it down onto the the grass/weed/blackberries. Go the mighty Victa 2stroke. The grunt the thing is absolutely phenomenal.
Mastercut 600
You can still buy them new (they are that good, they appears to have made them for about 60 years unchanged). It appears they won't sell them with the proper 2stroke now given that website (you could a couople of years back). You have to do with a heavy, gutless 4 stroke now.
There easy to cut around trees with ... the very low/flat deck will run under tree branches, decked/outdoor area. So you don't need to use a whipper snipper. There is a cutout in the deck for edging around trees with on the left side.
The only problem you will ever find is ... they ARE heavy to push.

I've still got and use regularly, a 35 year old 16" cut reel mower with a Briggs & Stratton 4 stroke. I bought it when our lawn first started growing in our new home. It's had the reel sharpened a couple of times but that's about it for expensive maintenance. Little vibrating fuel pump thing replaced a couple of times as well. I oil all bits which need oil before every use.
It's an Oz made Rover something (HELP! The minds gone blank) and the only part which should really be changed is the catcher which has holes, dents and splits in where the Cook has bashed it against the fencing ....... wimmin drivers!
I've remembered at last...... Rover Scott Bonnar that's the name. Excellent value at 600 odd bucks all those years ago. Would have saved a fortune in mower mans fees but I've spent it all on beer....
