Shipping containers were invented by an American Trucker, so originally all the dimensions were Imperial and really still are. 8'6" is the width of a truck tray so that is the width of a Shipping Container. To be pedantic 2.6 Meters is not as accurate as 8 ft 6 in.Quote:
