Just returned from a 4 week trip from Perth to Kununurra and on the return leg we stayed at Cape Leveque where we spent 6 nights.

There will be better places in the world but till I get there then the Kimberley does it for me.

Envy your trip , we went through the horizontal falls at dead low water on a neap tide the water was mirror calm, 9 metres wide but you felt you could touch both walls.

    Hi Weeds
When are you planning to go up there????NOW is the time for Barra,my mate up in Derby has been catching them for the last 6 weeks or so,he rang Xmas eve,he had just caucht 3 70cm Barra shore based in creeks. He also has a boat, but seems to really enjoy mixing it with the crocs on the creeklines
The Barra go "dormant" when the water temps cool off and are almost impossible to catch, they have only started to move in the last 6 weeks.
Im hanging out to get up there and catch one myself, the ones my mate get are really nice, they move in and out of the tidal creeks and into King sound so they arent "muddie" as some can get in more inland river systems.

    Hi Weeds
You should be up there in the rite time,my mate says up to easter time is still OK up there for Barra. When you are up there try and catch som Cherabin, they are like a giant prawn with a pair of nippers like a crab, apparently they are quite a delicacy and easy to catch in a trap.
