It's not like I'm fixing them every week, I like the challenge of fixing stuff. Recycling is good for the environment.
Buying petrol in small quantities....maybe about 3 times a year.
I know where my ear protectors are and don't have to find them [bigsmile1]
Each to their own.

Hi,
Best mod I ever did to an old mower that was hard to start, (wind up recoil type) was expose the 17mm nut on the top.
The Sher electric drill would start it in seconds if I didn't get spun off my feet.
Cheers
And my mower broke so needed a new one, why would i replace it with one thats more hassle in every way. Kids can do the mowing now, win win for me. [emoji846]
The mower and batteries were brand new - was only on its second mow.
The block is a standard suburban block of 650sqm so about 300sqm of my lawn + about 80sqm of nature strip. My neighbour has a 18v Ryobi on a smaller block and he takes three charges to mow his.
I get 1 1/2 mows out of one tank with the 6hp Briggs and Stratton. No mixing fuel just pour it in and go. The other aspect of the battery mowers is they are all plastic - my ICE is 21 years old and this is its first issue - the cast metal underside looks like it has been peppered with a shotgun a few times but is still fine - I wonder how the plastic battery mower will be going in 21 years time.
Battery technology will have moved on several times by then so it will become obsolete and be on hard rubbish or down the tip shop long before 21 years.....
Mind you, by then will we be able to buy petrol for our ICE vehicles & equipment ???
Perhaps one of these, I need the exercise !

Er, I'm confused, how do you spend $100 on a carby blockage ?? WHip that sucker off, give it a clean, throw it back on. Maybe 15minutes and no cost :)
If it only idle, I'm betting the throttle lever is stuck on "idle". Otherwise it would lean out and die if the run jets were blocked.
