In a bit of a hurry mate!-

Driving down High Street road, Wantirna Vic, this morning and doing the speed limit of 80kph I'm over taken by this black hoon car doing well over the speed limit , nothing new here, but then in the distance he is in the right lane to make a left hand turn, so he cuts across all the lanes, and there is a Pajero in the left turn lane, so the hoon spanker decides the pedestrian foot path is his new highway. How these spankers get their drivers licences is any ones guess.

Can't see the problem.... normal Perth driving especially in the southern burbs. I think we know how they get their licence but the question should be 'How do they keep them?"
I'm afraid the answer to that is a lack of cop patrols on the road (WA anyway) and those that are have a fixation with speed only regardless of all other offences. Apart from the occasional blitz on phone use.
Then the pollies and cops bleat about driver behaviour....

I'm all for more police presence on the road, but there are those that always find an excuse to justify their behavior under the guise of revenue raising , nanny state cries. gotta remember we share the road with these spankers, often we are lucky to avoid interaction, but sadly one day innocent drivers fall victim to their antics, it's only a matter of time when it happens.

We have an intersection near us that was featured in a news article showing all the cars mounting the kerb and driving along the path to get to the turning lane in peak periods. I have never seen a police presence at that intersection.

The whole idea of Police presence is to be seen and if you do something wrong and get caught, that's what they are for, so why is that revenue raising, you can't have it both ways, somehow having Police sit around and show their presence and do nothing, is not what their job is.

If you do the wrong thing and get caught, well that's how it is.

Exactly, i'd rather see their flouro coloured cars than not see them hiding behind bushes with the radar gun.

Funny in my opinion i dont mind them hiding to catch law breakers .
I do have a problem with disguised speed camera cars and so forth.
Not to long ago i worked with a ex toggy that openly despised speed cameras as blatant revenue raisers .
Personally if i break the law i would rather be pulled over and spoken to and or handed a fine .
What i don`t agree with is getting a fine in the mail 2 weeks after the fact .
I saw something a while ago a speed camera setup 80 k zone wet road and no more that 2 ks up the road a fatality with a car and tree and obviously speed related.
I wondered if that camera car was a officer maybe that life would have been saved and i still wonder

I would suggest if the rego plate is readable, that you take that footage to the Police. He could get anything from a fine to going to court for dangerous driving if there were pedestrians in the vicinity.

Police can't physically be patrolling every inch of society, they need our help, and the more the law breakers realise that in this day and age of dash cams etc, that they are likely to be sprung by footage, maybe it will register in their pea-brains, and maybe they will think twice before driving like the dickheads they are.
