Sounds like you had a good day after a bad start Ian. What brand/model of VHF did you get.
I went to the 4 X 4 and camping expo.
After a false start, with all the carparks full, I headed home in disgust and somewhat peeved. Fortunately, a free, free spot appeared so I slotted into it and walked the kilometre and a half back.
I got a new UHF, snatch strap, go-pro, various electrical outlets, adapters and chargers for the Disco and a Smarttek 6 gas hot water unit for the coach conversion. Also a bush shower for camping.
After all that energy expenditure I decided to get a cab back to the car. The $9.40 fare was cheaper than the $13 parking fee.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

UHF Brian, Oricom UHF 300, hopefully it will fit into the useless shelf above the windscreen.

I fitted my UHF radio into the top shelf on my D2.
It fits great But it tends to "Muffle" the speaker quite a lot.
uhhhhh Ian - shouldn't it be "Fourtunately"![]()
Touchè, you're going to fit in well 'round here.![]()

We got there at 9.30 and there was plenty of parking.
Spent most of the day comparing camper trailers. Very impressed with the Jawa's from the Sunshine Coast.
I bought a Projecta 900a lithium jump starter for $170. Charged it up last night. Seems like an excellent thing. Said to be able to start five times a diesel up to 3.2 litres or a petrol up to 4 litres. There are also 1200a and 1500a models.
Can also charge phones, tablets. Can be recharged in the same way. It's amazing how compact they are compared with a standard battery.
