Hi Steinzy, I don’t know where the dual battery is fitted in a p38 but p38arover ( Ron ) might be able to help you there or steer you in the right direction.
Now, what are you planning to use it for, fridge, a few lights and so.
Let me know where the battery goes and what you are going to use it for and I’ll happily give you some options.
Cheers
well i'm looking at making a draw system for the back and was considering putting there. I want something to run lights, fridge and also be set up to recieve charge from a 100 watt BP solar Panel. at a later stage I also want the system to be able to link to my caravan via anderson plug and charge 1 or 2 batteries in the van. the capability to be able to use the secondary battery to start off would be great if possble.
Can it be done and what sort of cost will I be looking at to do it properly???
First off, thanks for the info on discounts at Bruce Lyntons.
Now, your set up will require some planning but you will need to run some pretty heavy cable to the rear of the Rangy if you ever want to use the rear battery to start the Rangy.
I’ll set up some options for a layout for you tomorrow with some idea of costs.
Cheers.
Thanks mate - your a champ!!!
Hey Steinzy,
Good to know about the 10% discount, will remember that next time I am in there, geez could have got $3 off the cap I bought https://www.aulro.com/afvb/. I have to pop in there today, so will find out how much the rubber mats are and see if I get a discount,
Regards
Stevo
If you have a later P38A where the engine management systems is no longer mounted behind the battery, it may be possible to fit a second small battery there. Alternatively, the only option is where LR put it - in the rear load space. However, if your spare wheel is coimg out when you fit the drawer system, you can fit the battery in the wheel well.
If you fit the drawers, where will you put the spare wheel? I'm asking 'cos I have my Kaymar rear step bar and swing-away wheel carrier for sale. See pix of mine at http://www.rangerovers.net/outfitting/bump...ump.html#kaymar

I was looking at getting a rear bar custom made to improve approach and departure angles and have the tyre on the back. How much are you looking at for yours???
Pi## off you lot, this is a D3 thread.
Cheers ( and carry on )
I hope you're sitting down. $1700. For $2000, I'll throw in the bull bar - shown on my white P38A at http://www.rangerovers.net/outfitting/bump...aussiebump.htmlQuote:
