Somehow I don't think these companies will leave it there - High Court appeal coming up ??

The US embassy may have a bit to say as well (due to the loss of the big bickies to the US parent company). Interesting contradiction between US & Oz tax law.

It sounds like it has been a really cosy deal benefitting both the parent company and the Oz subsidiary, attempting to twiddle the use of both US and Oz tax law in their favour.

Transfer pricing is stealing from us. We pay taxes and often more than the multinational sods who pay ZIP here with hundreds of million in turnover and profits evaporating usually to low or no tax havens.

High Court is possible. ATO have been chasing this one for decades. Nice to see a win for us. IF the US embassy support tax dodgers I will be a little surprised.
Nearly added a card game term to that re a free trade deal squashed recently but refrained to keep it in General Chat

Great to see this result. These companies are stealing from Australian taxpayers, as are many of about 300 of our largest companies which pay nil tax.
Transfer pricing is just a scam to cheat nations.

I think this result might stick.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.

I see the ATO is referring to tax avoidance, not tax evasion. Interesting
