Given up on idiot Drivers

I usually don'y bother with right lane hogs. I just follow the path of least resistance. However sometimes when I think the hog is just bit too much and I have the time, I play Shepard and shuffle the offender into a better position, simply by making them feel slightly uncomfortable where they are.

Regans Ford CBH to Forestfield CBH, what a lovely run.. Not bad on the Brand but get past Bullsbrook and your in a war zone..

You are probably one of the people that was quite courteous on our way into Perth.. Especially those long pulls between Regans Ford and Gingin.. I was lucky when doing that run, I had an overpowered prime mover and could hold just under 80 on the steep pulls, if I didn't get held up when approaching the climbs.. Which you would understand, as I was well over 80 tonnes on that run...

Coming out of Perth, was the opposite effect...

We haven't used the Brand Hwy since Indian Ocean Dr was opened years ago. Trucks use the Brand for obvious reasons as they can run straight into the industrial areas from it.
When ever we're on a hwy used by them I stay tuned to Ch.40 and let them know that they can come past as soon as they can see it's clear or if there are floodways where the bitch is wider, I pull over and give them more space.
Plus when pulling the van I travel at 95kph (100pkh is tops for towing vehicles in WA) which gives them and cars a bit of extra to get past and I also advise trucks I'll brake if necessary when they're passing if oncoming appears.
A bit of courtesy to other drivers doesn't take much effort but don't expect any acknowledgement from WA drivers if you give any to them.

I don't normally worry either, particularly on a highway, speeds are higher, so I'll just overtake on the left etc, if it's two lanes of course.
However in the suburbs, if someones hogging the right hand lane at say 55ks in a 60 zone, & I'm behind for a while, & they clearly know I want to get by, I will overtake, pull over in front & sit on 50ks for a while,..just so they know what it's like,....sometimes they even move over into the inside/left lane!
Childish I know, wifey doesn't like me doing it, but how else are these "drivers" gonna be woken up.

I'm not going to flame you for that Pickles.
Suffice to say two wrongs don't make a right, and the other drivers might be a bit peeved as well.
Try my method and see how you go. Leave them to commune with the Pixies and just gently shepherd them out of the way. You're get a kick out of it when you pull it off.

And Mr Pickles. In a 60, 70, 80 zone traffic is entitled to be where it pleases..

Not in 80 zones in NSW however, traffic must stick to the left unless overtaking

Keeping left

When driving on any multi-lane road with a speed limit over 80km/h, you must keep out of the right lane unless you are:

• overtaking
• turning right
• if all lanes are congested.

If the right lane is a transit lane, this rule applies to the lane immediately to the left of the transit lane.
