    D3 Tyres

Wel, I've tried the D3 out in sand and rock/gravel hill but I'm not impressed with the fitted tyres, they don't have the traction that AT's give.

    My searching around so far has only uncovered 265 x 70 x 17 AT's

Does anyone know if they will suit or can anyone offer some suggestions :?: :?:

Richard, I take it that your D3 has 17" wheels??

If So Cooper has an ATR in 235/70R17 which is one of the recommended sizes on the placard. They also do a 255/65R17.

They also have the STT in 245/70R17, but it's obviously more agressive.

I don't know of any others.

If you have 18" rims like me, then forget about it.

I was told that you can't vary the overall diameter by too much or the traction control systems can get confused. +-15mm is the max I believe (also max legally in WA)

I'm going to get a set of perfomance wheels 17's for off road work. I'll probably put on the STT's as I can keep the original wheels and tyres for most road work.

Mine are 17" but as with my other RR and previous Disco I will get a second set of wheels for muddies.

ask PCH about your tyre and rim choice

he's been through the same thing for his D3

Yeah, I spoke to PCH. He was in the same boat as me: 18's and no good tyres. HE put me onto the Coopers in 17's and the BB6 wheels

Latest LRE mag has a D3 with Cooper STT's on it in 17"

    they did a test between a D3 D2 and D1.....
the D1 went where the D3 could go.... D2 piked it..
mind you D2 had road tyres, D3 Cooper STT and D1 BFG muds with 2" lift...

In my field that would be considered an 'inconclusive test' :? :?

There are far too many variables to say that the D2 piked it 8O 8O

    Cheers,
    Lyndon.
