The fires do a lot of damage to wildlife. Some maybe accidental or due to carelessness but some are started deliberately.
Farmers burn the heather to promote new grass for hillsheep. It is very hard to find the guilty party.

I've been wearing shorts yesterday and today, so yes it is quite balmy here. Must be in the mid to high teens.
Yesterday I saw some visitors driving a car with the top down....both had on wooly hats.
I'f I want to experience a drive with the wind in my hair I go for a drive in the 88...with the doors, windows and flaps CLOSED.![]()
Great stuff Spud, brings back some great memories for me, beautiful area up there, I stayed up there for about 4 nights at the Local youth Hostel in Gleann Cholm Cille run by Patrick O'Donnell, one of those nights was at a B&B between Donegal Town and Killybegs.
Out of interest what's the name of the Lough?

The long one is "Lough Fadda" (which means Long Lake) while the circular one is "Crun Lough".
The sea inlet is Lough Swilly.
The little white building seen on a height at the back of the horse shoe shaped bay (Crummies Bay) is part of Dunree Fort which was a British gun emplacement camp. Now it is a museum.
