Thread: RR and series bits fyi

Hi guys, went for a walk around Hillside wreckers, a few K's west of Lismore, today; had to get a part for the Futura. ( The blinker stalk fell off).

Anyhow...

Off in the distance I spied the distinctive roofline of a Range Rover.

A few minutes later, I found two mid seventies RR two doors and a couple of series LRs.

All these were straight but tired.

The RRs were largely intact minus interior. The series, I think, were probably 2a types, before the six cylinder versions. (sorry guys, I'm not that ofay on series LRs). lwbs?

Old Landies rotting away, sadly.

Just thought I 'd share this with y'all, may need bits for a project, or start one...

One of the RRs was definitely worth restoring as was the cream(ish) double cab tray back series...

(Curiously, a mint condition Cressida from the early nineties stuck out like a sore thumb. I didn't ask, but I suppose its drivetrain may have died).

Graveyards are fascinating places. Trouble is, these guys eventually crush everything, and history disappears.

(I don't work there or own this business, but in a curious way, I'd kinda like to, I'd like to crush the Marinas, remember them? or restore the coupe, would probably be the last one on earth).

An orange P76 force 7 rolled thru Lismore just before Xmas, with a for sale sign on it, still looks the part, eh?

Looks like I'm not the only one who likes graveyards.

Got the bit for the Futura at $99 (new $257) but they wanted $35 for an early holden 13" rim with a tired tyre, just a spare for a trailer I wanted, but rich.

Think I'll spend the $80 for a new (trailer) axle and use my surplus falcon rims and hubs....(they don't fit the existing one).

Briefly, I have two trailers. A newish box trailer and a boat trailer which is about 20 yo. I have a newish box trailer because the old one had a bobcat fall in it, with a bucket full of sand, so the local sand suppler replaced the old with a new....

I recovered what was unbroken, the rims, the hubs, the springs and one tail light... I kinda liked that trailer, how sentimental....
