My neighbours recently traded their D2, 2002 model air bag rear, all the accessories professionally fitted, only 75 000km.
Got $20 000 8O
On a brand new Isuzu truck to tow their toys.
Ok. These ad's are appearing all over the place for D3's. $50,000 drive away. This is a list of the package that you will get.
Driver & pass. air bags
Driver & pass. side curtain air bags
Row two head curtain airbags
6 speed command shift
four channel abs
Active roll mitigation
Electronic Brake assist
Hill decent control
Dynamic stability control
Centre locking differential
Tow pack - 3500kg
17" alloy wheels including spare
V6 engine
Now...I'm looking at trading the D2.
Discovery Td5 1999.
104,000 k's. Auto. Serviced regularly at every 10,000 k's. Immaculate condition. Everything done properly including accessory installations.
How much do we think we would get for it. Just a ballpark figure at this stage...just to bounce a few figures around![]()
Also...how much difference i.e equipment levels & technology, between what I have and whats on offer?
Cheers,
Lyndon.

D3 deal is only on 2005 stock and runs out soon - you had better be quick.
Like the V8s its seems D2 TD5 prices are dropping but not as much - I have seem a couple of 100,000k 99-2001 cars at between $19K and $21K but most are still selling for about $24K so a trade in of around $20k should be about right - not sure if you would sell quickly privately.

hey drivesafe what do you think about your V6 D3 ???
130's rule
Hi hiline, compering it to my D2, I’ll start with the cons.
The fuel tank is way WAY too small.
That’s it
Pros, Take one for a test drive, the ride alone will have you salivating.
Tons of room in both the front and second row seats.
Super quiet.
I haven’t run the WIFE’S in yet but it seams to have plenty of grunt ( and sounds Great ).
So far, it gets about 14 lts per 100 kms but I put this in the Pros as you will still be saving between 5 to 10 time the difference in what it would be with a diesel and what it costs you to buy a diesel ( this is the main reason I went for a V6 over the TDV6. If I keep the D3 for ten years it might cost me more in fuel than I save on a diesel and in your case with that special price, it would take you at least 20 years to burn up the savings over a diesel.
Huge rear cargo area even bigger the my rangy.
Lots of gadgets and play things ( if your into that in a vehicle and I am ).
That price is a winner in itself.
Can’t go wrong.
Cheers

Ok...any rumours of a long range tank in R&D?
This might be sometime as the spare sits under the vehicle
Cheers,
Lyndon.
Purely out of curiosity could someone (Tim?) get a quote on a D3 taillight cluster thingy please.
I figure that will make all us Defender owners feel a WHOLE LOT BETTER about not having a D3.![]()
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I’m not sure Vlad but with exception to the actual goose neck, I think the rest comes standard.
Not sure though as I ordered mine with the tow bar.
Just let them see how it all sets up though, it does look like a nightmare.ops:
But yet to try it. 8O
Cheers.
