Now that the whole family have moved to Doomadgee SWMBO & I have been discussing (a nice term for arguing) about the need to have 2 cars, 2 lots of rego, 2 lots of insurance & 2 lots of vehicle maintenance.
So, it ended up, that 1 car had to go. After further even more robust discussion it was decided (Decreed) that the D3 would go & the Delica would stay!
On a purely practical level this makes sense. The Delica has more room, is 4WD, is cheaper to service, has been 100% reliable, has much more space when all the seats are being used, is easy to drive & most of the roads around here these days don't need a heavy duty 4WD.
On an emotional level, it is a big blow. We trucked the D3 out on Friday to be sold, I was 1 cranky old man the rest of the week-end!!
I know I'll get used to it & SWMBO has agreed that once our finances have improved I can look at another one (maybe even a D4, 3lt) & I know that we have to not let emotion get in the road but I'm sure going to miss that mobile block of flats!
I still have the Series 2A parked up in Mt Isa so I guess I'm still a LR owner so I will hang around here & put in my inane comments occasionally. Hopefully in a couple of years we/I can start looking for that D4.

I sympathize.
That's a cruel blow, but one that I know too. As someone said on this forum many moons ago, there is a Land Rover for every stage of your life. Sometimes you will be without one, but more often than not you will end up with the Green Oval again. So do the practical thing (hard as that is), by losing the D3, and then slip back into something more comfortable later!
In the meantime you still have the 2A.... My sympathy and empathy are with you though!
my condolences.

Kinda know the feeling , my D2 was deemed not worth spending more to fix. Unfortunately I haven't another to fall back on.
Soooo.... As there's now a D3 sized space on your drive/in your shed, there's now room to get the Series 2A home and play with it... It'll take you to a different part of the forum, and open up a whole new 'green oval experience'! Pictures to follow me thinks......![]()

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Doomadgee, eh? Not that far from the Isa (), so you can maintain visiting rights on the 2 Alpha. Stay on board, you know you need us....
I would have traded the missus....Shh, I didn't say that.
