I used to like the 16rpm facility on my sisters old Dansette - i used to use it to deconstruct Beatles 45's. Never came across anything that played at 16 though - what was it for ? Talking books?

Dunno, I've never seen a 16rpm disc, only players with the facility.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

That's 16 2/3 rpm. There was also 8 1/3 rpm. They were music recordings.

What do we use now to code music files onto a car-usb?
Will my in-car players play it?
Should I now download all my music again in this new format?
I recently downloaded a trial of "Switch Plus" by NCH Software, Convert Audio Files To/From All Audio Formats with Switch
and bought a licence, it was very cheap. It converts files quickly to what ever format you like. I had some FLAC files and converted them to MP3, very simple to use

I still dont understand mp3 or 4 for that matter.

Have I been unknowingly using it for years, because I have never knowingly applied mp3 to anything.

Is it possible never to have used it?
