Intersting... since owning a fender I've noticed most people acknowledge you. Mostly it's very subtle thing though... kind of like you want to get excited.. but then realise it's dorky and you just end up raising a couple of fingers from the wheel. Interstingly, my wife seems to get more enthusiastic waves from other fender drivers... 8O https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
Anyway... in the MINI it's ok to go over the top.. flashing of lights.. waving etc...
The lotus is somewhere in between, even though it doesn't happen very often (usually only on Mt Glorious) 8O
It's a worry having three cars where you are expected to wave. Sometimes I get confused and do the wrong thing... like flashing the lights and waving in the fender... or two fingering in the MINI and being thought of as a snob 8O Even worse I sometimes wave flash the wrong cars... like flashing a defender in the MINI which just results in confusion all round 8O

See the other post. "how low is this" or something similar. I wave at anyhting LR now, no matter where I am.
I drove down to Sydney ( via New England)on Wednesday and back on Friday (via Pacific).
Got precious few waves, but there were a few - defenders always, disco's a few - rangies only got one!! Also got the bird from a RR Sport driver (as I overtook him doing 140!) tosser.
My wife and I were entertaining ourselves - both waving away and getting nothing! When the true LR drivers would wave, it would be as enthusiastic as us.
Then I waved at a Disco in Leichardt and you'd think I spat at him!!! https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
Keep on wavin I say!!! let's get the LR wave happin everywhere

Ah, Disco owners are all buggers.
Buy a Defender, we'll wave every time.

Hey, I've never buggered anyone!!
I just thought it was that "inner city, metrosexual, toorak tractor driving mentality" https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Doesn't happen in the country either, at least where I am. Most ot the Disco drivers around here look they've got a broomstick shove up up there ahhhh I better go now...
JohnE's cool tho' and Bruce was great in his D2D but he died, sadly. (had seven Rovers dating back to the early fifties).

yep.. Disco owners generally don't wave.. they just don't get the Landy thing and most just own em cause they are a cheap 4x4/shopping trolley...
However, if the vehicle is modded, you will get a wave back..

If I remember correctly, it was the old LRO forum that started a wave and be waved at sticker that they all stuck on the windscreen of their landies...
Not a bad idea I reckon....

I always wave but never have them returned - I still keep doing it though, so I live in hope.
Stevo I will keep an eye out for your Black D3 and will definitelty wave look out for me in my Red 99 Rangie!

I get waves from most of the local discos around here, not many of the passers by wave to me. There are 3 or 4 discos in town that wave to me when we see each other on the road. But in Bathurst and anywhere else i am lucky to get a wave.
