Hi Redback, at least you got one wave. Not once have I ever got a reciprocal acknowledgement from a Mk 3 Range Rover driver, they are so fully of there own importance, they reckon their s##t don’t stink.

On the other hand, you would not believe the looks on some of the Disco drivers faces when I return a wave to them.

Baz, it might be that you are in Sydney. Or does it also happen when you travel?
Up here in Qld we regularly get waves.
Keep waving, at least you are happy.

nope never get waves back.

But get a Defender and they stop you to Chat.

We wave, but do get sick of not having it returned :x

I wave all the time but very, very rarely have it returned.
I thought it was just a Sydney thing, but since moving to the country it's still the same.
The missus just shakes her head, she thinks there's something wrong with us Landy owners

Hey Baz, good topic, made me laugh. Having recently bought a new disco 3, I have wondered about the concept of the hand wave. Everytime I pass another Land Rover I feel this overwhelming desire to give a wave, or even a raising of a finger wave ( ie 4 fingers on the steering wheel, one raised, in otherwords not the "bird"), but I freeze up. I even look to see when I pass another one to see if there is some opening to say "its okay to wave", but alas not so far to date. Even the other day at the Carrara Markets down here I passed the exact same car as myself, colour etc etc, looked for a sign of acknowledgement, but nothing. Having written this it now makes me think that perhaps others feel the same and in hindsight had I taken the chance and waved, then perhaps they would, with a sense of relief waved back. Who knows , however from now on I am going to raise a half wave and see what the response is, so if you are on the coast and you see me coming, wave back, please so I dont feel like a fool ops:

We have a little thing we do now when a Disco approaches i say wave at the disco, and we all get out the windows and wave and yell franticly, we certainly get some strange looks.
