As far as offroading goes (and setting marque aside for a moment) there are TWO types of drivers.

These are evidenced on Fraser Island.

Type 1: Well Adjusted (like me) - driving along the beach with the windows down and the cool sea air through the cab - enjoying the experience of nature.

Type 2 - The Tosser. Driving up the beach, at full bore, with the windows up and bloody air con going. :roll: Honestly, what is the point ? Stay at home you buggers and leave the beach to the Type 1 people.

I find in the Fender most fender and series drivers give a wave, a lot of early model Rangie and some Disco.
In the Rangie most RR drivers, most series and fender and some Disco.
I find with the fender and RR other like minded people will pull up and have a chat.
It can be an issue of seeing the vehicle in time to wave in bumper to bumper traffic at 110kph across 2 lanes, and often the wave may be a little late (as you pass each other). My co pilot normally looks out to see if they wave and waves as well. Dont despair if you see the Green Pig and I dont wave, I may be concentrating on the road, the kids or the skirt on the side of the road (OK to look). But if you see me pulled over pull up for a chat.

I was just driving around in the Rangie and waved to a guy in a Disco 2 and it was returned!!!

Well I have just had a change of heart when it comes waving to ALL landies.

I’m driving along my local road leading down from the Hinterland to the Gold Coast and here’s this organarse tailgating a woman in a little red car, that seamed to be doing at least the speed limit.

There’s nowhere to overtake so there was no reason to be travelling half a car length off the women’s bumper.

The scum bag was driving a fairly new fenda.

Pi##ed me right off, not the normal behaviour of a landy driver.

I sat at a red light and a late model D2 pulled up along side. The D2 was accessorised for off road, the driver was a "silver back" (an old bloke).

He looked over and smiled and waved. That was acknowledgement of pedigree. After all we are now on the third series of Discos and some of us appreciate the heritage.
