Sorry you can't go Kenley, I understand your disappointment. Kelsey is a credit to you, please wish her well from us.
Mixed emotions again.
My Daughter has been training very hard. And it's paid off. In August she is going to Canada to represent Australia in the elite level for cross tri and in age group for aquathlon. She also qualified for for duathlon but we pulled out of that as we thought taking her mountain bike as well as road bike would be a bit difficult.
Although she is the one who trains hard I think I also need some credit as being the one who has taken and supported her to every triathlon. I've missed countless hours of work, sometimes days of work getting her to training and events. Daily 5am swim sessions, blah blah blah. the list can go on for a while.
Although i whinge occasionally its not a chore. I love being involved and choke up with pride every time she finishes an event. You should see me when she wins. The thought of watching her perform in Australian uniform just chokes me up.
We've bought her uniforms. Two of them, elite and age group. I was so excited about taking her to worlds.
Life can be cruel.
An unexpected run of vehicle and household expenses popped up, some quite substantial. I survive pay cheque to pay cheque. This has crippled me. I can no longer go. Instead her mum is taking her. It makes sense, she's the one with a real job, gets paid while on leave etc. But she's been to one triathlon and taken her her two training sessions in all this time. Her hearts not in it like mine.
I so wish I could be there. Hopefully she qualifies again in the future and one day I'll get my turn to watch.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Try a lotto ticket , maybe a bit of good karma. I know about car issues as the disco died a miserable death and the Kia has cost me a fair bit and likely even more in the near future.
Maybe my nephew can help out with a bike, he aspires to be a bike mech in school holidays if he isn't in downhill races .
Or maybe a bit of crowd funding, AULRO style.

Hey, I'm poor too, but I don't have a cause like this. If I can afford to put in $50 to help some student who was persecuted because of 18C, I can afford to put in something here. I imagine most AULROians could.
Crowd fund it, kenley. Put the link up here, if the forum rules permit it. I'll bet it flies.

Yeh flash up the fund and see how you go. I'll be in for 50.
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
That's the way. Me too.
It needs the formal thing to make it happen. What say you, kenley, and Mods? Can we do this thing somehow?
These guys do it. Not putting them forward especially, and have no idea what they take. There may be a better way, but, hey.
