Thats interesting! If your talking the bit that's full of holes, ie the rear bumper?, mine lost all its paint and started turning orange at approx 38,000k.
I thought they had used "blackboard" paint on it.
I rubbed it down, masked it up, and satin black VHT sprayed it from a can.
Yep, looks just dandy.

Hmmm... now that I own one of these I realise that rust prevention is not taking it to a shop and getting then to spray gunk around... it's about getting underneath and keeping a constant eye out for rust. I had heaps of stuff to re-paint after our trip because the pait was worn off and it was starting to rust https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
I'm also damn sure that I'll be getting the "rust inspection" done by LR each service which is what enables you to claim your rust warranty...
