    The same thing happens all the time in Aus where new owners of a 4WD head off down the beach without a clue of what they are doing and get hopelessly bogged.

    Actually your spot on... I forgot about the guy that bought his first and new 4wd in Bunbury and then drove to Yeagarup the next day, and tried to cross the Warren river mouth...

    They dug the vehicle out, the following day with an excavator, after the tide had been in and out...

    We've probably all done it to some degree.
    I overtook a snowplow, thinking he was just for lesser vehicles, and ran straight into a snowdrift round the next corner. The snowplough driver never said a thing as he pulled me out but his look said everything.
