    It's flooding

Hi there water lovers, get your LRs here right now (hiline etc), we're in a flood, been lots of fun.

I think I managed to wash off years of underbody gunk when I traversed Teven Road East, about 3ks was inundated, up to a comfy 2 feet of nice fresh rainwater. We've had 14 inches of rain in 24 hours.

How do I put up some pics?

    Cheers, GQ

That sound great would'nt mind giving the Disco a thorough under body was to clean up after City View 4x4 Park. I had the chance to go traversing floodwater around Mudgeeraba a year ago and it was an eye opener to say the least.
After cruising along at around bottom of head light level to find the road to dip and im now driving along with the water just lapping over the front of the bonnet and that occasional dieing feeling in the motor. Just made it to a rise again after 250meters of driving to half wheel level at a causeway.
    4x4 then died.
It took 2 hours until it dryed and she restarted and drove as usual :? Close Call :? But was the best fun I have had.

It pays to watch the white poles on the side of the road for water level change 8O

I'm guessing that that cheap block of land I was looking at in South Lismore, right by the river, is now looking a little damp.

LoadedDisco, it was you then that I saw there!!! :? Was that on the road that runs past the back of the sports fields past the parks towards Bonogin Rd? You were more towards the baseball fields side on the little bridge? I went past there but only after the water had subsided a little, it gets very deep and FAST 8O . Was wondering about that......
    Glad you had no damage

Hi Tishhh, good to see you are still out and about having fun
It's about time you grace us with your presense at our GCLRO meeting again .
With the ses evacuating, the river must be quite high!!! when i worked there my office looked out on their shed. Why are the levy gates not open? i thought that was to flood the place in a controlled way to minimise damage?? and you say more water is on the way Keep us informed and stay safe

Flooding is out and about around mudgeeraba too, though council has ruined the fun as they are on top of it this time. Normally one can expect a bit of a water crossings around Firth Park ( struggled to not zip off road for a bit of "dirty" fun in the mud and water), and further out where I am Mudgeeraba creek runs round the base of my property and it was rising. Last year when I had a Territory and we had the major flooding I was able to make quite a few crossings but when hit Southport, all was lost along Smith Street as many of you would know the whole lot went under. Of course whilst keeping safety in mind, wouldnt mind a water crossing on the way home ,

    Regards

Hmmmm i remember that well... my house is right on Smith St right where all the action happened... bottom level went well and truly under... and discovered i need to redo the door seals on the disco as the water poured in.

Hi there Tishhh, you guys till lugging around betacams? My shoulder still has never recovered from those days. I'm putting some of pics in the Village Voice, but the best stuff came from what went on to the DV, some people really do dumb things when roads get flooded.

A driver in a Falcon attempted to follow me along said Teven Road, but very suddenly whacked it into reverse and fled, fortunately. The Disco was impersonating a boat...But what was interesting, was a conventioal semi with a very big tarp on the bullbar, must've expecte some serious water.

    Cheers, GQ
