Yes I agree and plus - I had more asked for advise and wish I never had to and there is every chance the right thing gets done as well. [bigsmile1]

This type of thing is the reason I've told 3 interstate possible buyers of my Defender that I want a local buyer who can come round, see the beast, we can get it checked out by someone we both trust and we both end up happy about the whole thing.
One bloke wanted RACWA to check it over and as I've no confidence in their knowledge of Land Rovers especially Defenders, I suggested a well known independent here but he wasn't interested.
A couple of incidents have put me off for ever with that lot....although I still insure with them. [smilebigeye]
I've never yet sold crap to anyone and ain't gonna start now.
Actually I sold a Prado to a chap in Alice via his BiL who was a preacher of some kind, and he rang me afterwards and thanked me which was nice of him. Made me feel good anyway.
And yes, weirdos are on every site and that includes this one...... what about the turkey who wanted me to send the 2 - third row seats (virtually unused and 15 months old) from a Puma to Vic and he then would "assess" them to see if they were worth the 100 bucks I was asking!!! Fruitcake. [bigsmile]
Hope this ends well for the OP.
AlanH.
I've only had good experiences selling/buying on this forum so I hope it works out well for the OP.
Sorry to hear of your problems. I've sold quite a bit of stuff and bought stuff on the Forum, and always had great success. I've always been of the opinion that I'll be as honest about something I'm selling, and hope people are/do the same in return.. I've bought transfer cases, gearboxes, sold engines, parts etc but never actually bought/sold a vehicle to a member.. The 101 went to a fella who had somehow seen the forum advert on Google (I think), but I don't believe him to be a member.. All in all everything has always been as described and the network to get stuff from A to B has been truly amazing!
Hope you get it sorted, and are able to look back at it in a few months and smile.
Just a start. Doubtful no records would be kept.
Vehicle standards (Department of Transport and Main Roads)
My red POS doesn't have a mod plate for the 350 (Vic).
When I was buying it I rang Vicroads who told me it when it was inspected and where and back then (1991) they did not keep copies of engineer's reports, which is what I wanted from the seller (who had bought it already modded).
Was registered with the Chev engine number and it was all good as far as Vicroads was concerned.
cheers, DL
