A black car is much hotter inside and on the surface than a light coloured car.
I owned a black Jazz and when it was written off , I bought a white one.
Like Chalk and cheese as far as temperature inside is concerned.
My Oslo Blue Disco 2 used to get so hot in the sun that you could only bear to place your hand on it for a short time.
As the roof was going Milky, I painted it silver. You can feel an enormous difference between the two surfaces I reckon about 20c at least. Next summer I may remember to use my new ubeaut temp gauge on it and report back. I also covered the roof windows with chrome vinyl and that also helps the poor old fridge.
To summarise I would never again buy a black car in OZ, Ok in Europe but not OZ.
What amazed me when I returned to OZ after 10 years away from 1980-to 1990 is that from about 2% of sales of black BMWs ( in 1980 when I was placing the orders on Germany) about every second car on the road was black. I couldn't understand the attraction then and I can't understand it now.
