So my wife recently bought a new car, a Kia Picanto. She decided the 110 was too big for inner Sydney. I tried but failed to persuade her a 90 would be ideal.
Anyway, one of the big selling points for the dealer was the Apple Carplay. Connect your phone and all your apps appear on the built in screen.
So, if I touch my mobile while driving it's a large fine + points. But anyone can effectively do the same thing on the car's screen, and presumably not face the same specific sanctions.
Have I missed something, or is the law way out of kilter here?
In Vic at least I think the phone just has to be in a holder? As someone who's been fined (4 points and $375) for picking up my phone to turn the Bluetooth on while in park at a railway crossing, you'd think I'd know the law better!
