I have a good picture of HMAS Brisbane ( sister ship to old HMAS Hobart) and Hobart together somewhere. See if I can dig it out.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Yes, when Perth hit the wharf in Hobart. We can laugh now, but it wasn't funny at the time.

I was standing on the forecastle of Stalwart when she went by. I was not the only one that thought "dam, they're moving" (or words to that effect ).

I wasn't on Perth at that time, and can't remember why it happened, whether it was the engine rooms fault, or a mistake from the OOW. There would have been a lot of joking at Perth's expense. Reminds me of an incident when I was on ARDENT, in Darwin. Whilst working up the new Skipper of AWARE, AWARE hit us at speed dead amidships, stbd side. Almost pushed us over, and gave us a large dent in the side. Our RO used the call sign "ARDENT " when sending or receiving radio traffic. After the incident he started using the call sign " AR-DENT ", until NOCNA let it be known in no uncertain terms he should stop. No sense of humour, senior officers. Still, it showed how tough those little Attack class were. We continued on our 6 week patrol as if nothing had happened.
