Brisbane's buses run on gas, so that reduces emissions compared with diesel.
Not everywhere in Brissy has public transport unfortunately...i still pay the same rates though... It's a disgrace.
Cheers

Pig Poo is the way forward.
Saw that on VSauce2 a while back.
(ps. if you haven't watched Vsauce on YouTube, you've done yourself a disservice!)

I have public transport available but I prefer to drive. Even when I worked in the city and it was quicker to go by train, driving the 60km by Rangie was preferable.
i hate having someone getting on the train and, having just had a fag on the platform, sitting anywhere near me. I hate the smell of smokers.

Get rid of petrol, gives me a headache if car is started inside shed...
Diesels are not evil, try connecting the exhaust upto an air seeder and tell me what you think of your crops inoculation by gas... It is a wonderful inoculant and best bit, lasts in the soil a possible few hours at most and does some nice stuff to the soil structure... Mind you, it will not replace fertiliser... It just helps initial seed growth and soil stabilizing.
Anyway, petro chemical fertiliser is what farmers use, no oil or gas and no farming under present practices, so starve unless you can grow your own...
But one thing I remember being told as a kid, "death and taxes are going to always be there"...
So how many people die of old age and can we ban that??
I seem to notice all these people dieing of old age, lately... Seems to be an epidemic with a lot of my older friends...
Government's air quality plan branded inadequate by city leaders
Government's air quality plan branded inadequate by city leaders | Environment | The Guardian
The British plan is being criticized for not doing enough to reduce the 40,000 people a year dying there of poisoning from vehicle air pollution.
I read that here it's about 2000 people, which is less, but still more than die in road crashes.
"i hate having someone getting on the train and, having just had a fag on the platform, sitting anywhere near me. I hate the smell of smokers. " I do like that.
The foul stink of them makes me feel quite sick. Of course now I've been pure for over 40 years I can say that.......
But none of these anti pollution fixes by all our governments will effect them or their henchmen in the vast bureaucracies we pay for because we also buy their cars for them and they will get the very latest at all times which will bring a satisfied smile to their smug faces.
Plus of course it won't effect their never ending globe trotting to discuss the environment with their counterparts overseas. And it won't affect the biggest polluters on the planet, the so called "emerging nations" the UN gives dispensation to so they can keep polluting as much as they like (and no doubt our taxes will help them to do it) until they catch up with the nasty West which caused all the problems in the first place.
Bah humbug to the lot of it.

So - I think we've all (including me) missed one really big significant point about this.
The UK is the worlds largest market of right hand drive vehicles. If they make significant changes to their vehicle fleet, it's likely that we will see a flow on effect into ours. It's unlikely manufacturers will engineer vehicles specifically for Australia.

So petrol and diesel is banned that leaves biofuel, kerosene, other oil derivatives, hydrogen or any volatile gas. Have they gone as far as banning the combustion engine?
