Good evening all,
Question to the forum,
Who remembers the Brisbane City Coat of Arms in this presentation, I know quite a bit about it
but I am more interested in what others may know. History, location, etc.
Cheers.

Hello V8Ian, yes you are partly right I seem to remember the Coat of Arms on the council buses as well.
But that particular picture, that was the Old water fountain located at the bottom of Ann and Wickham Streets in the Valley, it and the whole fountain were built and paid for by the Lions Club of New Farm and Fortitude Valley ($100,000) to try and tidy up the area before the visit of the Queen those many decades ago, I believe Sally Ann Atikinson was the Mayor then.
The whole fountain has since been knocked down and new multi storey buildings have totally changed the area since, for the better. Anyway just a bit of history. Cheers.
Ah yes, back when there was a round-a-bout at the end of Montpelier Road.
