I remember thinking he was an old man, when I was going to school on a horse...
I wonder if the Queen will put a letter in the mail to him when he reaches 100...
On the point of his comments or questions, I think he askes things that other would like to ask but are too scared to...
On tv it was pointed out that he asked some Aboriginals if "they still threw spears at each other"...
I remember my mates being asked those kind of questions, back in the early 80's and laughing at the tourists... But at the pub they would laugh there heads off, and even one would make it sound like he was still in the 1800's and carry on... It was not regarded as racist, these guys would regard it as the tourists having a lack of knowledge...
My sons best friend is from Meekatharra, I took him around to meet a friend of mine(he is a two cylinder, two wheel tractor driver(Harley Davidson)) and my friend asked where his family are from, he said Scotland... My friend didnt know what to say but then asked "Arn't you Aboriginal", James said "on one side of the family, others are Scots... My friend wasn't being racist, he was curious.. James regards himself as member of the planet Earth... Scottish/Aboriginal, but no different to the rest of us...
Mind you, he can stir the best pot and come out a winner...
If we broadened our shoulders and joked about life and things more, then we would all get along better... Seriousness just makes things harder...

SupporterI understand what you are saying but I think you have been quite selective with the quotes. I'm glad he has stepped down , he used to make me cringe.
