    I'm with ya.......

    but solar and chip oil isn't zero emissions.....gotta make the solar panels, cable, regulators etc and you have to make the oil.

    Doesn't have to zero emission...

    Just have to be of lower emission. Right?

    Only until you have enough wind, solar and storage to power the mining and manufacture of the next generation of turbines, panels and batteries. The actual materials don't count for much because you don't burn them at the end of their life, you recycle them.

    Indeed. At least chip oils is recycled and solar itself is. But agree, while emissions reduction is vital or the health of us all, there's a long way to go before zero.

    VW claiming zero emissions vehicles by 2020... more hot water for them?

    China's plastic bag ban started in 2008, almost ten years ago. We might do that next year.
    So

    Aussie will start to accept electric car in, say, 2030
