    Okay twitchers, what are these birds?

    We've had a couple of visitors to our Melbourne garden recently. Can anyone tell us what they are from these photos? They're quite shy so it's difficult to get a decent photo.

    Okay twitchers, what are these birds?

    Quail, but not a common one. It has escaped and I think it is a Californian King Quail.

    The Californian King Quail is a big one. I've only seen them at poultry and bird shows.
