'It looked like they were trying to keep coming after me' Female cyclist targeted by 4WD in Northcote
I wish I had a dash cam in my Disco for a similar attempted murder by a 4wd ute last week. I was stopped at a red light near my house. The two lane road had one car in the right lane and a bike in the left waiting to get a green light. A ute came up behind the bike. It is a big hill. The bike was hard up on the left and moved off with the green light. The car was slow of the mark. The ute was a bit quicker. The bike as 60 meters down the hill when the ute moved beside the moved to the left forcing the bike into the gutter. It was clearly deliberate. The right lane was entirely free as the right hand lane car had not really moved. I drove after the lights changed and offered to go with the bike to the police. The guy declined saying it happens to him about once a week!
Not sure how the ute drive thinks his driving is funny or perhaps as his ute is bigger than a bike. This logic of course would allow me to drive over his ute perhaps. How much is a dash cam I wonder!
Dash cams aren't too expensive, depends on your budget - I picked up a dual camera Uniden setup for around $250 that works great. The other option is that if you have your mobile in a cradle stuck to the windscreen, there are some good dash cam apps for them that use the phones camera.
