I love these computer courses they advertise for people that have never used a computer...
I asked about them for a friend... Got to ask a couple of questions then kind of got stupid and asked the person teaching what knowledge they have, "oh you did a course in computers at tafe", oh "you have a cert 3 in computers" but you are teaching them to use a word processor first, "would it not benefit them if you explain the basic principles, like turning it on and how to find the internet, teach them how to find "Help" and use something like Google, so they can teach themselves... "NO people want to be taught not learn for themselves, besides you have little knowledge of them to understand"... "Ok so next time your server packs up and Scott calls me, I will explain that I dont know anything", "OH listen here idiot, Windows is just an operating system, not the only Computer available and your server is Linux"
Anyway, I taught my friend and they teach and install Linux for others there age. Come to think of it, they no longer get in touch for there computer issues...
I cannot understand how these educators have these preconceived ideas of what people need... It would be like teaching a 6 yo how to pour a beer and drink it...
