We had that many moons ago when I worked on Bougainville Island. We used to pick up pies etc. for morning smoko at the mess and stick them in the fridge then a few minutes before smoko one of us would stick them in the pie warmer...... and lots would disappear.
We complained and they caught the miscreant who was a local and he just wolfed them down red hot straight out of the warmer. He got his own back by getting heaps of turds wrapped up in cloth and throwing it under the crib room where the stink came up through the cracks in the floorboards. Put us off our pies....
He got the sack from memory.
Much more recently until I retired, I worked at a TAFE and milk kept disappearing..... the HR manager got caught taking it! And he drank lots of tea the bastard. No apology from him either.
I gave up taking milk in my tea so it didn't bother me.

A while back someone was taking milk from the fridge in the office where my wife worked.

After hers had been raided a few times she put a note on the bottle saying it was hers and don't steal it.

She was told that was inappropriate, nothing was done about the thief!

    Where?
    Panguna?
    The mine?
    Loloho?

I had a bit to do with the gas turbine at Loloho and the ball mills and concentrator at Panguna Mine.
Not much of it left now

At a job I was on a while back, one of the lab workers used to leave a pie in a sample drying oven overnight and have it for breakfast when he started work in the morning. Whenever one particular crew was on night shift in the mill, the pie would always go missing.

So, when this same crew was due back on night shift after this had been going on for a while, the owner of the missing pies caught a mouse in one of the flour bins in the fire assay fluxing room one day, knocked it on the head, carefully lifted the lid on a pie and scooped enough meat out to make enough room and placed the dead mouse inside the pie. He then carefully replaced the lid, and placed the pie in the usual position in the sample drying oven.

We never did find out who was knocking off the pies ......................... but that was the last one that ever went missing.
    Cheers .........

Concentrator Mick in '76. Lived in Panguna. Used to drive down the hill to have a wee drink with one or two of the lads every now and again and so went through Loloho. One good thing about Bougainville was I gave up smoking there.
Should have saved me thousands since then but I spent it all on beer...... and the odd barmaid.
