    Aus post, again

Almost every item i or my wife purchase locally in our state ends up in a sorting facility in another state. Latest purchase was from Talbot in rural Victoria yet when i check the tracking my parcel is in Granville NSW. Last week an item my wife bought came to the sunshine sorting facility so we assumed it would be delivered the next day, not so as it ended up in WA then back to Sunshine then delivered the next day wtf ?

Hey, I recently ordered some stuff from Ashcrofts, came in two separate packages. After customs clearance, one took 2 days from Sydney to Adelaide, the other took 5 days. The people doing the grunt work aren't paid enough to care, no matter who is the carrier.

Another item I bought in Australia was logged at the senders post office, a week later no tracking updates from Auspost until a query was lodged. Got here the next day. Fortunately I'm not often in a hurry for stuff these days.

I send letters, cards, cheques etc. around Brisbane and they take 5-6 calendar days to arrive. One posted at Cannon Hill to Manly West (two suburbs apart) took four days. I could walk and hand deliver them in the time taken. My WA customers frequently tell me they can get parcels from UK & USA quicker than from the eastern states.

It should have gone through the Sunshine facility. Aust post has just hired causal staff in their facility to do the Xmas rush. We had a large order that went to W.A by normal registered post and it went to Granville first before heading to W.A. I rang Aust post and they say all the Parcel post goes to N.S.W. for parcels going to different states, as they load the trucks there. I can't understand why it goes to N.S. W then heads to W.A. from there. Anyway it did get there in the time frame they said. As for parcels that go to the same state, they should go to the facility with in the same state. When I have rang Aust post about order that had gone missing they came back and said that it was mi sloaded on to the wrong truck. There are 3 Maryboroughs in Aust and 2 Emeralds in Aust. They say it is sorted by post code electronically , but we had one sent to Maryborough in Qld instead of Vic. I think a lot of time there must be human intervention where just look at a place name and put them in the wrong state.. I now underline the state when I know when there is more than one place name in Aust. We track all our orders so we know where they are going, and email our customers when it is their area or if it has gone to the post office for collection when no one home to receive it. This way we can catch hubbies on there way home from work to drop in to the post office. So they do not get home and find a card to go back which is usually to late for the to go back. Heather

Mrs Trog bought a phone on line with a few days promised delivery time. Took just over two weeks. I bought some records from a shop in Melbourne , sent buy Aus post , arrived within 5 days . Can't fault the post office.
