    Velar

    Saw my first one today,,
rushed () home to pick the colour and wondered why I couldnt pick one off google,,

untill I saw the Official colour options---

but then Firenze Red has alway been the go to colour for late model LR's,,

    and which colour was it?

    it wasnt Firenze,,,

and it looked fat across the grill (even more than an Evoque) and low height for a RR,,

The name should never have been allowed to be used.
Velar is sacred to Land Rover; it's like calling the Defender replacement a HUE or a Series One.

😳 Red or beige, hmm 🙃

I can never tell if it's a Velar, a RR, D5, or a D sport coming towards me!

THey are sexy highway machines though and I'd have one in red if I had to 🙈

Pedro, the Velar is so low even you could look across its roof.

The Velar is not really a Landrover but a Jaguar - is a Jaguar F Pace with a modified body - the design of the F Pace owes nothing to Landrover as it is paced on the Jaguar XE car platform.

Up to now, with the exception of some engines and gearboxes, Jaguar and Landrover vehicles, remained completely separate even if some models were assembled on the same production line but with the Velar it would seem the brands will move closer to each other.

I haven't seen one in person but I don't like the shape of the bumpers on it nor the new Disco.

Why they are bringing Jaguar car designs across with the possibility of a Road Rover range seems pointless to me as I would think it would rob sales from the other just like what happened to British Leyland. In a way the name Land Rover should be also dropped as they are all Range Rover or road biased anyway.

Nope, Velar is based on the same platform as the F-Pace the D5 is all Land Rover.

Rex Gorrell dealership have got a big presence down at the Geelong waterfront as LR are sponsoring Geelong's Festival of Sails.
They've got the LR Experience off road demo thing set up and I sat as passenger in a Velar.
Very impressive to be honest, but I just couldn't get over what they were calling it. Considering where the name is derived from, Vee Eight Land Rover, they insisted on pronouncing it V'Laaar, which sounds, well, just plain wanky!
