That rear crane is brilliant. park the tractor new to whatever you are rmeoving the motor from. and use it like an engine crane. Then lower the engine/weight onto shipping pellet behind held by 3PL forks, and place the heavy weight soemwhere for storage. Obviously a FEL would be far more effective at all jobs.Quote:

FEL's are the answer to everything! Love em! Have even cut the tops out of trees whilst hoisted up in a FEL....shhhh don't tell the OHS brigade.
You can also push over trees with them as well. The previous owner of our ex Pioneer quarry Chamberlain FEL used to drive it up the tree and then reverse quickly to prevent the roots hooking the front axle. This activity has virtually destroyed the Funk reverse-o-matrix auto box though! Weighing in at 7 ton it can move trees fairly easily & winds up on the road - top speed is around 80-90kph but the brakes hardly work at 5kph let alone 80kph!Quote:

Thanks for the pic of that TE-20 mate, that takes me back to the first tractor I ever drove at the age of 8, towing a trailer full of hay while the old man fed out the hay. Sloshing through mud 12inch deep. Ahh them were the days.
The differences are so obvious. I was looking at buy a grey fergi a few years ago. After a lot of reading of forums... I went looking for old fords, inters and 35 fergies. I ended up with a battered POS 434 for similar money to a battery grey fergi ... way better for me with the two stage clutch.Quote:

Exactly the same with me! My Father used to plonk me on the seat and then stand alongside and push the clutch pedal down by hand to put it in gear. He would then let in the clutch and jump back on the trailer! I think that I used to stop it by standing up on the peddle until he came back around and put it out of gear. I have restored a couple of them over the years. The last one I went overboard with it with chrome bits! Sold it for $5k about 10 years ago.Quote:
